Benefit raises money to help Pilger family, staff recalls memories

DSC_0254

Saturday afternoon was a day that showed how much this community would pull together to help one another. From 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. Three Sisters Park had many Chillicothe residents participating in raffles and listening to local bands, all to help one family. The Pilger family lost 17-year-old Josh Pilger on December 29, 2011. Josh had many friends throughout the Chillicothe area, and had a smile that made anyone smile. I personally knew Josh from a few classes we had in my freshman year at IVC. He was always one to crack some of the best jokes at the right times. He always made our class laugh. Although we weren’t close it was still hard to see him leave us. Many people cared about him, a lot of them my close friends.  Josh really did show what true strength was. He kept fighting. Saturday was an  amazing day to see everyone come together to support one another. It makes me proud to be in a town like this, one that is so caring and supportive.
