To all Chillicothe residents who are currently owned by a 4-legged pooch. Carol Krosse, local dog trainer extraordinaire has a favor to ask you: Recently, Carol found a lump on her 2 year old pup, Zed. The diagnosis is indeed cancer, definitely not, what anyone wants to hear, and Zed may only live to see his 3rd birthday. Carol was very consistent about rubbing Zed all over, as he'd lay on her lap. But after coming across the lump unexpectedley one day, she realized that Zed was always laying on his right side, so his left side received all the attention, the growth was on his right. Carol would like to make the 13th of every month PuppyCheck. From tip to tail, shoulders to toes, rub your hands all over their bodies. Check under tails, around ears, "arm pits", rib cage, hips, all over their head & neck. Any unusual lumps and bumps need to be monitored and any dramatic changes in size and if pain accompanies it, then please see your vet immediately. Please do not let cost be a deterrent; this is something that can be easily dealt with.
