News from IDOT puts viaduct plans one step closer

chillic_viaduct_

IDOT has contacted the city via letter,  that funding for the design of the replacement of the BNSF viaduct has been ADDED to the fiscal year of 2012's HIghway Improvement Program.

The Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce represented by Mike Krost, have been championing the cause for a new viaduct because of safety issues since August 24, 2010.

Mind you, "the funding is for plan development only; there is no funding for construction activities," the letter states.

This is our town's highest priority for roadway construction.  The work to secure funding for the actual construction will still continue.

For more details and information, please keep an eye on this website and in next week's print edition.
