Earnie M. Mendenhall

Earnie M. Mendenhall Sr., 77, of Oblong, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009, at his residence.
Born  Oct. 9, 1931, to Benjamin E. Mendenhall Sr. and Connie Mae (Smith) Mendenhall in Crawford County, he married Neva Marie Piersall Aug. 4, 1951. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons,  Ed (and Julie) Mendenhall, Earnie (and Paula) Mendenhall Jr. and Maurice (and Angie) Mendenhall; three daughters, Twyla Rosson, Connie (and Rick) Clough and Lisa (and Frank) Yager; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Smith "Buster" (and Wanda) Mendenhall; one sister, Ruby Bex; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Othel "Chub," Pearl, Earl "Pinky" and Bennie Jr. Mendenhall; and two sisters, Edna Scott and Bessie Hale.
He was a farmer; former service manager for Bush-Holloway Ford in Chillicothe. He later worked in lawn care in the Oblong area for many years. He was a member of the Robinson Wesleyan Church. Earnie enjoyed working on small engines.
Services were Wednesday, July 8, at Oblong Wesleyan Church. Pastor Dan Szombathy officiated. Burial was in Oblong Cemetery. Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong was in charge of arrangements.
