The 1st Annual Holly Volleyball Games (or the Red & Green Games) were held at IVC High School tonite between the faculty of Chillicothe Elementary Center & South School and the faculty of Mossville Elementary School. The competition was for the winner of the best 2 out of 3 volleyball games, with all the proceeds to go to Community Needs Agency. Admission to the games was 1 canned good for a needy family. IVC High School’s Pep Band (with both Mossville & Chillicothe students in it) played throughout the evening, keeping the fans from both sides stirred up.
Dr. Nick Polyak, IVC’s superintendent, served as the referee in a red & green striped uniform shirt. Polyak points, “It is just great participation from a remarkable staff.” Before the games began, Mossville’s Assistant Principal Pat Auge commented, “I feel very confident in our squad tonite.” And, colleague, Principal Brooke Geltmaker chimes in, “It’s just a little friendly competition between us that benefits the Community Needs Agency. But, you know we will win.” And, indeed, Mossville Warriors did win the best out of three games!
CEC Principal Todd Dugan remarks, “Really, it’s what Christmas is all about- red & green & fun & helping others.” And CEC Volleyball coach and teacher, Sarah Kinney points out, “We just hope they all have a good time and we collect a lot of canned goods here.” Proceeds from the event were presented to Nancy Blew, CNA Director, a check for $500. Also presented to Ms. Blew was an additional check from the CJH Student Council for an additional $146. WELL DONE, RED & GREEN! Congratulations Mossville staff!
